McMAHON, Eleana - After a lengthy battle against Heart Disease, Eleana McMahon (nee Dumencu) of Lake Lauzon, Algoma Mills, ON, died Sunday May 15, 2011 at the Blind River & District Health Centre at the age of 91, with her daughter by her side. Born June 16th, 1919 in Creighton Mine, ON. Predeceased by parents Rorita Dumencu (nee Yesun) and Domitri Dumencu both of Romania. Wife of the late Alan McMahon. Mother of Rita Makela (Reino Makela). Sister of Zeta McLary of Webbwood, Silvia Barbeau of Lively, Billy Dumencu (Rita Dumencu) of Sudbury, predeceased by brothers Georgie, Valerie, Pete, and Don Dumencu. Grandmother of Ray Makela (Linda Bilton), Rhea Makela (John Doucet) Ronda Makela (Mike Mackwood). Great Grandmother of Mac MacLeod, Matthew Makela and Victoria Makela of Blind River, ON. Nan worked for Fera Celestini and Maoill Drug Store then with her husband founded Sudbury Aviation and Rayside Aircraft Maintenance. Nan was a past president of the Royal Purple, Lively chapter. Special thanks to BRDH nursing staff for your care and support during Nan's stay in the hospital. Carrie, Lillie and Rachelle thank you so so much.
