McRAE, James O - In loving memory of James O. “Jim“ McRae, 86 years, who passed away peacefully Friday, August 20th, 2010 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital with his loving family at his side. Beloved husband of Mickey (Verna) McRae. Loving father of Susan McRae (husband Scott Dingwall), David McRae (wife Marzia Favaro) and Catherine McRae (husband Ed Galka). Cherished grandfather of Victoria and Jamie Galka and Loren Dingwall. Dear son of George and Mary McRae predeceased. Born and raised in Gore Bay, Jim moved to Sudbury in 1947. He Married Mickey (nee MacLean) in Sudbury in 1950. A proud Canadian he served in the RCAF during WWII. Jim was a projectionist at various theatres for many years retiring in 1990 from the Odeon Theater. He was a model railroad enthusiast, accomplished photographer and jazz lover. A man of faith he belonged to St. Andrew""s United Church. Jim was devoted to his loving family especially his precious grandchildren. He was happiest when in their company. Jim will be remembered as a truly gentle man. Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Wednesday, August 25th, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the family plot at the Gordon Cemetery, Gore Bay 4 p.m. Wednesday. Flowers gratefully declined, donations to the Elgin St. Mission or Sudbury Food Bank or Habitat for Humanity (Sudbury Chapter) or Charity of your choice would be appreciated.
