MILKS, Basil Aloysius - In Loving Memory of Basil Aloysius Milks, 82 years of age who passed away peacefully, comforted by his family on Sunday, October 30th, 2011 at his home, St. Joseph's Villa. Loving husband of Alice (Goddard) Milks. Cherished father of Robert (Helen) of Winnipeg, Mary Ann Ricker (Nancy), Nancy Hanhimaki (James), Ron (Marta) and Bobbi Deisinger (Richard) all of Sudbury. Much loved grandfather of Dylan, Christian (Shannon Carpentier) and Sarah of Winnipeg, Julie of Stratford, Jamie Ricker (Candace), Jennifer Ricker (Steve Joncas), Matthew and Christopher Hanhimaki, Greg and Tori Milks, Roslyn, Willem and April Deisinger all of Sudbury. Cherished great grandfather of Jasmine and Jonovan of Stratford, Jacob and Lila Ricker. Beloved brother of Sister Patricia Milks, Garnet Milks (Mary) both predeceased. Loving son of Herbert and Teresa  (nee Mulcahey) Milks both predeceased. Sadly missed by many cousins especially the Mulcahey cousins, nieces and nephews. Basil was a Master Electrician, working many years at INCO, prior to being employed by the Regional Municipality of Sudbury as an electrician and ending his long career as a General Foreman. He was a well-respected man not only in his home, but in his workplace, his community and in his much loved Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Basil was a long time and valued member of the Church Men's Club, helping in the organization of many charity events. He was a coach in Playground Hockey and involved in Scouts Canada. In his later years he volunteered at the School Breakfast Club that was sponsored by the Human League, where many children will remember his acts of kindness and sense of humour. Basil was a hard-working, religious and well respected man who often went above and beyond to help his fellow man. Dad was happiest when he was with his family, especially watching his Grandchildren playing their various sports. He was always there calling out encouragement from the stands and with a hot chocolate in his hand waiting for his little athletes. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of St. Joseph's Villa, especially the Sunnyside Wing, where Dad called home for the last 4 years. He was cared for in a very loving and professional manner. A celebration of Basil's life will take place on Saturday, November 12th, 2011 at Holy Trinity Church at 1 p.m. Visitation to be at LOUGHEED'S FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent Street on Saturday, November 12th, 2011 after 10:30 a.m. Donations to St. Joseph's Villa, the Human League or St. David's Breakfast Program would be much appreciated in lieu of flowers.
