MILKS, Raymond Mark (Ray) - Of Manitouwadge, Ontario passed away on August 16, 2010 in Capreol, Ontario at the age of 48. Born in January 9, 1962 in Capreol, Ray moved to Manitouwadge in 1980 at the age of 18, where he spent the majority of his life. Predeceased by his mother, Helen Milks of Capreol in 2007. Ray is sadly missed by his son Thomas and daughter Elaine Milks and their mother Clare, all of Manitouwadge, his brother William (Bill) of White Rock, B.C., his sisters Cathy Strunk (John) of Duluth, MN, Nancy McInnis (Donald) of Carleton Place, Ontario, Glenda Perrin (Denis) of Capreol, and Maureen Martin (Dan) of Manitouwadge. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and the family dog, Tosha. Ray was a devoted and loving father. He took great pride in watching his two children excel academically, and flourish as athletes in sports such as basketball, tennis, volleyball and soccer. Being an avid sports fan, he enjoyed faithfully following the Montreal Canadiens. He worked as a lifelong miner for Geco and William Mines in Manitouwadge. Ray touched many lives with his humour and his generous heart. He was a dedicated father, a caring brother, and always known as the “favourite uncle“. He will be remembered as the father, brother, uncle and friend who was always there whenever you needed him. We love and will miss you dearly, Ray. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, Hanmer/Capreol Chapel, 4605 Michelle Drive, Hanmer. Funeral Service in St. Alban the Martyr Anglican Church, Capreol, Friday, August 20th, 2010 at 11am., Interment in the Capreol Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
