MILLMAN, Liz

June 21, 2010 61

MILLMAN, Liz - Born Elizabeth Ellsworth “from away“ in Prince Edward Island on March 10, 1949 passed away comfortably surrounded by her loving family on June 14, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Jordan and Margaret (Aylward) Ellsworth. Dear sister to Christine (Leonard) Murphy, and Richard (Alice) Ellsworth of Tignish, PEI. Special aunt to five nieces and one grand-niece. Liz will be greatly missed by her numerous friends and patients whom she touched and cared for during her many years of working at the Sudbury Memorial Hospital. She spent most of those years on the second floor as a duty nurse and later on as a charge nurse. She had a gift of being able to allay her patients fears and pain and she was equally able to manage the demands and the needs of physicians who worked with her. She was an avid golfer and was renowned for winning many a longest drive contest at the Beef & Bird's Annual Golf Tournament. Liz loved hunting and fishing on Manitoulin Island as it reminded her of back home. She was a devout Blue Jays fan and followed them during their spring training camps in Florida and upon their return to their homeland. Burial services were held on June 15, 2010 and Liz was laid to rest alongside her parents. Liz will be missed but never forgotten by her many family, friends, colleagues and former patients. A celebration of her life will be held with her second family at the Beef & Bird 923 Lorne Street, Sudbury on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010 at 7 P.M.
