MOORE, Eric T. - In Loving Memory of Eric T. Moore 87 years. It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of a beloved brother and uncle on January 11, 2013. Predeceased by his parents Ethel and Stanley Moore of Ireland. Dear brother of Bert (wife Joan) of Burlington and sister Evelyn Burns of England. Predeceased by his sister Mabel Cameron (husband Harold of Lively) and brother Johnny (wife Joan of England). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews in Canada and England. Born in County Waterford, Ireland, Eric came to Canada in 1950. He was employed by INCO, working at the Copper Refinery, Casting Department, staying there for seven years before starting on his own and becoming a dealer for Imperial Oil and operating Moore's Esso at the corner of Lorne and Walnut streets. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and gardening. Free masonry was a very big part of Eric's life and he was a very dedicated and devoted member, giving freely of his time and talents to help new officers and members. He served as a member of the Belrock Masonic Centre Board since its inception in the early 1970s and then later as Manager through to 2001. He had a long and distinguished Masonic career, serving in many executive positions with his Lodge and in the York Rite bodies. Eric was a highly respected Masonic member of Sudbury Lodge #658 AF&AM and National Lodge #588 serving as Worshipful Master and District Deputy Grand Master of the Sudbury-Manitoulin District. Eric was very active in York Rite Masonry and served in a variety of presiding and administrative positions. He was a life member of Tuscan Chapter #95, Mavar Preceptory #65 and was invited to join Northern Lights Conclave #20 in Sault Ste Marie. He was also a member of Rameses Shriners and the Sudbury Shrine Club, and served as president of the club in 1979. Eric earned the respect and affection of all who had the privilege of knowing him and our lives have been greatly enriched by his presence among us. A special thank you to the Nurses and Staff on the 4th Floor of HSN for their care and kindness and also to everyone at the Maison Vale Hospice. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Tuesday, January 15th, 2013 at 10am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. A Masonic service will be held at 7pm on Monday under the auspices of the Sudbury Lodge #658 AF&AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation (Cancer Centre) or the Maison Vale Hospice would be appreciated.
