MURRAY, Charles “Chuck“ - 1943 -2013 The family announces with great sorrow Chuck's passing after a battle with cancer on February 7, 2013 at the age of 69. He will be missed dearly by his wife Nancy and sons Christopher (Michelle) and Patrick (Samantha) as well as grandchildren Jordan, Sydney, Daniel and Kate and his cousin Lindsay (John) and their daughter Meghan. A long-time employee of Falconbridge and Xstrata in labour relations, he found his true calling in supporting those in need. For over two decades as President of the Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation, Chuck believed that all children deserve the opportunity to experience the outdoors through the “Send-A-Kid to Camp“ program and the opportunity for academic advancement through the Bursary program. In addition, Chuck was a fierce advocate and supporter for those in the community facing long-term health challenges. Chuck was recognized throughout the Greater Sudbury area for his exceptional volunteerism, community involvement and embodiment of service above self. The family would like to thank the staff of professionals who looked after Chuck, offering comfort and hope during his time of need. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury (Friends may call 2-4; 7-9 p.m. Monday only) Funeral Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Tuesday, February 12th, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. The family would appreciate donations to either the “Send-A- Kid to Camp“ program, the SMCF Bursary program or the Northern Cancer Research Centre in lieu of flowers.
