NAHWEGAHBOW, Mary (Beshigiizhgo- kwe) - In loving memory of Mary Nahwegahbow “Beshigiizhgo-kwe“ - Thunderbird Clan - Wife of Arthur. Born January 15, 1917/18 and died February 12, 2011. Died peacefully at the Wikwemikong Nursing Home on Sunday. Beloved wife of the late Arthur Nahwegahbow, who died in 1998. Devoted mother of Margaret (Alfred) Cooper, Pearl (Don) Bosman, Adam (Leona) Nahwegahbow, Claire (Andre) Kipp- Nahwegahbow, Edward Nahwegahbow, Alex (Judy) Nowgabow, Rose (Brian) Richardson, Robert Charles Nahwegahbow (predeceased), Barbra (Terry) Nahwegahbow, Patricia (Tony) Van Es, David (Lois) Nahwegahbow and Monica Nahwegahbow. Beloved Grandmother of 22 grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and one Great-great Grandchild. Mary loved her family, her children and grandchildren were very dear to her. She was always delighted with all the babies. Mary loved her dogs, eating coconut cream pie and Chinese food. She was an avid collector of beanie babies, she listened to Johnny Cash, played solitaire every night, bought lottery tickets, had a lucky blue dot and occasionally even went to the casino. She was full of knowledge about the Royal Family, and read the Enquirer to keep up with what was happening. Mary used her binoculars regularly, checking out what was happening outside her window. A special thanks for the wonderful care Mary received at the Wiky Nursing Home. Thanks as well for the great medical attention given by Dr. Jeffrey and the staff at the Manitoulin Health Center. Visitation at the Birch Island Community Centre, Whitefish River First Nation, Monday. Funeral Mass 11:00 AM., Wednesday, February 16th, 2011 at Birch Island. Officiated by Father George Gardner.
