In loving memory of Angela Nardi (née Bruno), born June 9th, 1940 in Calabria Italy in the province of Cosenza. Angela left this world on February 21st (the anniversary of her mother Adele’s passing) at St-Joseph’s Villa in Sudbury. She was undoubtedly greeted with loving arms by her best friend and husband of 62 years, Raffaele Nardi (predeceased in 2019).

Angela was the eldest daughter of Adele and Pietro Bruno (both predeceased). She will be remembered with great love and affection by her sons Luciano (Camille Dupuis), Steven (Karen Kruk) and Robert (Shawnda) and by her 2 “jewels”, her grandsons Luca and Samuel who will cherish years of wonderful memories of their beloved nonna. Angela will also be greatly missed by her 3 siblings whom she loved immensely, her sisters Franca Ammirante (Mario), Rosa Zanetti and her brother Sam Bruno. Her many nieces and nephews will also miss their zia Angela as will her dear cousin, Antonietta Dell, whose love and care for Angela have meant the world to her family.

In addition to her roles of devoted and loving wife, mother and nonna, Angela was a world-class chef, a natural comedian, a seasoned traveller and a loving, kind soul. She hosted thousands of dinners in her home in Gatchell, serving her famous pastas, meatballs, soups and a variety of other delicious meals that she so lovingly prepared for her family and friends. She enjoyed chats around her kitchen table and her infectious laughter always filled the room as she listened to or told stories. Some of her best memories included the many trips she and Raff took to Cuba and Mexico, where they spent time on the beach or at the lobby bar enjoying an espresso while playing cards. Angela’s smile and laughter are her legacy and she will be missed and fondly remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Angela’s children wish to thank the staff at St-Joseph’s, especially Shawna and Katie, as well as Kristen Long for their patience and kindness throughout the 5 years that Angela was in their care.

A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope on Monday, February 26th at 10:30 am. Friends can gather after 10:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at the Civic Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St-Joseph’s Villa would be appreciated by the family.
