Nauha, Robert

November 18, 2009 75

NAUHA, Robert (Bob) - 1934-2009 - It is with great sadness that the family of Bob Nauha announces his passing on Monday, November 16th at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, his family at his side. Predeceased by his father, Lauri Nauha and his mother, Vieno Nauha (Tuomi). Beloved husband of 52 years to Gayle (Potts) of Lively. Loving father to Bev (husband Michael Bellrose) and Shelley (husband Dan Watson). Proud “Poppa“ to Chelsea, Jacob, Hannah and James. Brother of Edwin (wife Pat) and Brenda Gauthier (husband Michael predeceased). Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bob was an INCO retiree, where he worked as a miner at Creighton Mine from 1958 to 1991. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, spending many days fishing with his good friend, Fred White, at Seagull Rock on Wabagishik Lake. Before his illness, Bob spent many summer days at the family retreat on Lang Lake, helping to build a sleep camp and a traditional log sauna. A top notch carpenter, Bob's skilled handiwork is evident in the many articles of furniture he constructed for his two daughters and grandchildren. Recently, Bob looked forward to weekend dinners with his family, reveling in the accomplishments of his grandchildren and enjoying a delicious glass of wine with those who sought his company. Bob's stoicism (sisu) and “Larsonesque“ sense of humour will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him. Memorial Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, Thursday, November 19th, 2009 at 7 p.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sudbury Food Bank would be appreciated. (Friends may gather after 5 p.m. Thursday). To light a memorial candle, flowers, donations or messages of condolences available on-line at www.lougheed.org
