NEILSON, Audrey Alexandra - In loving memory of Audrey Alexandra Neilson (nee MacDonald). The family sadly announces the passing of Audrey Neilson (nee MacDonald), 88 yrs, who passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 14, 2010, at the Elizabeth Centre, Val Caron. Beloved wife of Robert MacGregor (Greg) Neilson predeceased August 1986. Loving mother of David (wife Lynn) and Susan Suriano (Larry). Cherished grandmother of Carrie (husband Brad), Kelly, Rob, Shari Miller (husband Paul), Patrick and great grandmother of Sofie, Dominic and Faye. Dear daughter of Sam and Mary MacDonald, predeceased. Dear sister of Katherine, Jean, Beryl, James & Edward all predeceased. Sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, she met and married Greg Neilson there in August, 1944 and they subsequently made their home in Sudbury. Audrey was a long standing member of St. Peter""s congregation, where music and fellowship was of utmost importance. She gave of her time and compassion to Telecare Crisis Line and taught school in Copper Cliff and Val Caron. Talented and artistic, she discovered wood carving in her later years and this hobby resulted in an amazing collection of exquisite wild birds. A celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date at St. Peter""s United Church. Donations to the Alzheimer""s Society of Canada would be appreciated.
