NELSON, Dick Joseph - In loving memory of Dick Nelson, 79 years, who passed peacefully March 21st 2013 at Health Sciences North with his loving family at his side. Beloved father of Richard (Valerie) of Ottawa, Tina Romanyszyn (John Whitteker; Brooke, Megan) of Sudbury, Charles (Heather) of London and mother of his children Carla. Dick will also be missed by his partner Irene Zayack of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Andre) Lamarche, Victoria, Lisa, Andrew, David, Sarah, Jessica and Dagmar. Dick grew up in Noranda, Quebec and was the eldest of 11 children. He is survived by his siblings Wesley, Dudley and Bradley and he is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Lucille Nelson and by siblings Perry, Audrey, Wilma, Stanley, Mildred, Clarisse and Shirley. Happily retired from INCO, Dick had time to pursue his passion of fishing and hunting with his family. He was a natural musician, favouring the accordion, and was very witty with a great sense of humour. Dancing, singing and bringing merriment to those he loved was his true joy. He was generous in spirit, and Dick will always be in our hearts. A service will be held in the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street Sudbury on Sunday March 24th 2013 at 1:30 p.m. Friends may gather after 1p.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Strokes would be appreciated.
