Nero, Lorraine (née Michaud)

In loving memory of Lorraine Nero. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the age of 96. She died peacefully with family by her side at St. Joseph's Continuing Care Centre.

Dear daughter of Benjamin and Laurette Michaud (both predeceased), beloved wife of Peter Nero (predeceased). Loving mother to Marlene Merrick (Wayne) and Glen Nero (predeceased). Cherished grandmother to Kim (Tim), Wendy (Mike), Melissa (Joseph) and Melanie (Derek). Great grandmother to Krista (Dino), Morgan (Curtis), Alexandria (Jake), Scott (Katie), Owen, Emalee, Jayden, and Dominic. Great great grandmother to her special babies Ilaria, Lennix, Harper, and Bodhi.

She is reunited with her five brothers and five sisters who are all predeceased. A very special thank you to her surviving brother Donald (Carol) who was with her until her last breath. Lorraine was known by all of her friends and family as Mom Mom. She was a top-notch euchre player and in her earlier years she enjoyed her time with Pete, and a cold Molson Ex at their camp on Agnew Lake. Special thanks to all the staff at St. Joseph’s CCC who took care of Mom Mom.

She will be resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home. Memorial Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 11:30am. (Friends may gather in the chapel after 11am Monday, April 29, 2024). Cremation with interment in the Civic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Center or the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
