NESSETH, Archille

May 4, 2011 86

NESSETH, Archille (Archie) Joseph Charles - Permanent Deacon, formerly of Spanish, was born on December 20, 1924 in Mattawa. It is with sadness that the Nesseth family announces the passing of Archie on May 1, 2011 in Elliot Lake. Beloved husband for 61 years of Beatrice (nee Rimes), predeceased in Feb. of 2010. Loving father of Albert (Leanne) of Copper Cliff, Fay Yorke (Daniel) of Kagawong and Colleen (Wayne) of Shubenacadie, NS and two infant sons. Cherished grandfather of Shannon Riebertz (Garry), Shawn Nesseth (Ronelyn), Kyle Yorke, Jeremy Nesseth (Donna), Jennifer MacKenzie (Pat) and Amanda MacKenzie (Kraig). Special great- grandfather of McKenzie and Tory-Lyn Riebertz, Grissom and Persephone Nesseth and Brooklyn MacKenzie-Wong. He is also survived by sister Enide and brother Marcel (Isabelle) and pre-deceased by Lucien, Emma, Jeanne, Roger, Nestor, Noella, Georgette and Jacqueline. Also survived by brother-in-law Arthur Rimes of Whitby and sister-in-law Emelda Rimes of Mattawa. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus (Espanola) as well as member and former Chaplain to The Royal Canadian Legion (Spanish Branch). He was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate in 1982 and served the Parish of St. Sebastian. His was a lifetime of dedication to his wife, family, work and 'projects', of devotion to his Faith and Church, of service to the various 'communities' to which he belonged. Archie's efforts were often tempered, but never limited, by issues of health, his manner solemn on the appropriate occasions but never far from his humorous side. Leading by example, he inspired helpfulness and sharing. Late in life, Archie was a favorite of caregivers. Together they functioned in an atmosphere of mutual appreciation. He will be missed. Friends will be received at the ELLIOT LAKE FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATION CENTRE (36 Ontario Ave.) on Wednesday from 10:30 - 11:30 am and on Thursday at the St. Sebastian Parish Hall in Spanish between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9pm. The mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 3:00pm from St. Sebastian Parish in Spanish. Interment to follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Spanish.
