NICHOLLS, Byron Lewis - At the Ottawa Civic Hospital on July 31, 2012 at the age of 64, after a battle with cancer. Beloved son of the late Muriel and Lewis Nicholls. Dear brother of Blaine (Lise) Sudbury, Laurie Ann (late Jim Eadie) London and Ruth (Gary Saunders) Richmond. Uncle of Kyla, Tyler, Blaine, Clayton and Lee. Great uncle of Carson, Alexis, Harrison, Jack, Charlotte and Victoria. Byron grew up in Sudbury and then moved to Ottawa to complete his university degree at Carleton University. He called Ottawa his home, working for Robert B Somerville and more recently AECON. Byron was a very hard and conscientious worker, who was respected and admired by his co-workers. He loved the outdoors and spent most of his free time fishing and hunting in the north, often bringing back game to share with neighbours and friends. Special thanks to the staff on A5 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital for their care and thoughtfulness, particularly Dr. Hooper, Dr. Douglas and Dr. Scott. At Byron's request there will not be a visitation or a funeral service. After cremation Byron's ashes will be returned to Sudbury, to rest with his parents, in the forest of Northern Ontario.
