NIESING, Horst - In loving memory of Horst Niesing, 81 years Tuesday, April 24th, 2012 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Beloved husband of Judith Niesing (Hall). Loving father of Shelley-Ann Niesing-Smith (Gary), Laurie-Ann McKenzie (Andy) predeceased, Stephanie-Ann Jones (Thomas) and Christopher Niesing. Cherished Opa to Owen and Mackenzie. Son of Maria and Adalbert Niesing both predeceased. Dear brother of Ursel Hanhus (Horst), Maria Reichow (Lothar) predeceased, Margaret Buhmann, (Richard), Wolfgang Niesing predeceased (Janni), Hannah Runde (Berni), Franz-Josef Niesing (Lilo) all of Germany and Herbert Niesing (Rolande) of Sudbury. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in Braunschweig, Germany, March 15, 1931. He came to Canada in 1950 where he worked for a short time at a lumber camp and later in Creighton Mine. A master carpenter, he built many homes in the New Sudbury area before working in the precision build shop at Carrington's Lumber. Horst then became manager of the Industrial Area at the Jarrett Centre and retired many years later. He found true joy with Judy his wife of 47 years and family at the cottage he built on Manitoulin Island. Later in life he enjoyed winters in Florida and travelling to other far off places as well as being the cherished Opa to the grandchildren he adored. Horst was a generous giving and loyal friend to many. Memorial visitations at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St., at Hazel St., Sudbury on Friday May 4th, 2012 from 2 to 4 PM. and 6 to 8 PM. A Celebration of Horst's life will be held at St. Peter's United Church, 203 York St., Sudbury on Saturday, May 5th, 2012 at 11 AM. Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium.
