NOLAN, Peter – August 2, 1935- January 6, 2013 The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Peter Nolan on Sunday, January 6th at the Vale Maison Hospice after a long but courageous struggle. Peter is survived by his wife Claudette (nee Persian), his sister Maureen Brownlow (Jimmy), his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: James (Mili), Karyn, Monica, Elaine, Ryan, Sarah, Jaime, Luke, Lauren, Christopher, Paige, Benjamin, Natalie, Xi and Lukie. Carol and Edward Armstrong considered Peter like a second father and share in the sadness and loss with Peter's extended family. Peter will be remembered by many for his quick wit and sense of humour. He loved an audience and nothing gave him more pleasure than entertaining listeners with his jokes, stories or sharing his wisdom, advice and opinions whether requested or not. He made everyone laugh even in the midst of the most trying of times and he kept the laughter alive until his very final days. The family would like to thank Dr. Cano, Dr. Dube, all of the nurses, staff and volunteers at Vale Maison Hospice for making Peter's last days comfortable and all of their kindness that they extended to his family during his stay. As well, a special thank you to Peter's buddy of several decades, Billy O'Toole for his unwavering friendship over the years. In accordance with Peter's wishes, there will be no funeral services however the family welcomes those who wish to make some observation of Peter's life to make a donation to the Vale Maison Hospice. The family will host a celebration of Peter's life on Thursday, January 10th and invite his friends to join them and raise a pint (a cold one) in his memory at the Lockerby Legion on Long Lake Road at 1 P.M.
