O'CONNOR, Lloyd

April 12, 2011 89

O'CONNOR, Lloyd Joseph - (March 12, 1922 - April 10, 2011) - Born and raised in Webbwood, he left as a young man to join the Royal Canadian Navy and served and was three times decorated for his service aboard the ships Cornwallis and Brockville during the battle for the Atlantic in WWII. After the war, he returned to Sudbury and married Anne Victoria Mydonyk. He then became a partner in the electrical firm Nickel City Electric. An avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman, Lloyd enjoyed telling stories of his many adventures (Jimmy). He loved to bake (and eat), play the piano and listen to his favourite “tunes“. He will be sadly missed by his family especially his wife Anne, daughter Dr. Deborah O'Connor and grand-daughter Sophie. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to his brother Nubby and wife Marilyn, Cindy, Cheryl, Jesse, wonderful Warm Hearts volunteers: Jim, Winston, Marg and Darryl, Agnes “in the room across“ and “nice nurses“ for their support and love. Donations (by cheque only) in lieu of flowers to Warm Hearts would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury.
