PAQUETTE, René - In loving memory of René Paquette, who passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years surrounded by his family on Friday, October 1st, 2010 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. René retired from mining after 40 years of service. He was an avid sports enthusiast and coached badminton at the Garson YMCA for many years. A man of nature, René took pride in building his own lake front dream home affectionately known as “Little Bermuda“. He will be remembered as a kind and giving person who was devoted to his loving family. Beloved husband of Cécile Paquette (née Desrochers ) of 58 blissful years. Son of the late Philias and of the late Rosia (née Lavigne) Paquette. Loving father of Robert Paquette (Irène) of Lac-Etchemin, QC, Jean-Paul Aubertin (Alice) of Wahnapitae, Denise Paquette and Gérard Paquette both of Ottawa, Laurent Paquette (Cheryl) of Sudbury, Jacqueline Paquette of Garson , Rhéal Paquette of San José California and Adrien Paquette. Dear brother of Theresa Paquette, Yvette Redman and Anna Gagnon. Predeceased by his brother and sisters Blanche Cuillerier, Laurent Paquette and Stéphanie Franklin. Sadly missed by his 16 grandchildren and his one great-grandchild. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Finlandia Village and Sudbury Regional Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd., Monday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the St-Bernadine of Siena Church, Skead, ON. Donations (by cheque only) to the Alzheimer""s Society, Canadian Diabetes Association and Northern Cancer Research Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
