In loving memory of David Patterson, 79 years, who passed away on Wednesday October 6th at Health Sciences North, Sudbury after a long courageous battle with cancer. Beloved Husband of Mary Patterson (predeceased). Loving Father of Lynn Ouimet (Randy), Bridget Erickson (predeceased), and Harry Patterson (Teresa). Cherished grandfather of David, Jessica Lynn, Joseph, Paige, and Liam. Dear brother of Charles (Shirley), Mary Lacivita (predeceased)(Joe predeceased), Catherine Griffin (Pat predeceased), George (Genevieve predeceased), Tom (predeceased)(Helen), Henry(Sharon), Hilda (predeceased)(Alphonsus predeceased), Sister Bridget, Barbara Power (Doug) and James (Jeanne). Son of Henry and Bride Patterson both predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
David was born in Newfoundland on December 16th, 1941 and came to Chelmsford in 1966. He was a hoist mechanic at Falconbridge for more than thirty years. He was passionately devoted to his family. Everything he strived for was for his wife, and his children. His 5 grandchildren were his stars. HIs most prized moments were his special visits with them. HIs other passions were camping, the outdoors and his beloved Montreal Canadiens! Anyone who crossed paths with David whether in his role as an Uncle, Co-worker, or Friend, knew him to be very strong hearted, good natured, helpful and humourous.
Memorial Mass in St. Alexander’s Church, 100 Gaudette St., Chelmsford, Wednesday, October 13th, 2021 at 1pm. Cremation with entombment at the Civic Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may gather at the church after 12:45pm Wednesday; there is a maximum capacity of 60 people, and face masks are mandatory.
