PETERSON, Jessie

PETERSON, Jessie A. (MacIsaac) - May 3, 1920 - Oct 26, 2011 - Born in Cape Breton Island in 1920, and moved to Timmins Ontario as a child. Jessie graduated from St. Mary's school of nursing in 1941. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Niagara Falls N.Y., Boston Mass, and New York City N.Y. In 1947 she married Ernest Peterson in Manasquan New Jersey. In 1949 they moved to Vermont, where she worked at Gifford Medical Centre for 43 years. Jessie's husband Ernest passed away in 1991, and in 1993 Jessie moved back to Canada. She lived in Sudbury, Toronto and then moved to Oshawa in 2010. She is predeceased by her parents Mary Jessie MacDonald and Hugh MacIssac, her brothers John, Hughie, Dan, Charles, Joe, Alex, Duncan MacIssac and her sisters Lena (Worth) and Hughina (Blakely). She is survived by her sister Peggy Shortt of Simcoe Ontario, sister in law Esther Koval of Manasquan New Jersey, as well as nieces and nephews in Sudbury, Toronto, Oshawa, New Jersey and Texas. As per her request, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Jessie will be cremated, her ashes will be returned to Vermont for interment with her husband Ernest.
