POIRIER, Alda May (nee Stapley) - In Loving Memory of Alda May (nee Stapley) Poirier, 59 years. Peacefully Monday, May 2nd, 2011 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, with her loving family at her side. Beloved wife of Claude Poirier. Loving mother of Mark (Karen Douglas), Brian and Stanley. Cherished grandmother of Makala and Austin. Dear daughter of Una Stapley and the late Stanley Stapley predeceased. Dear sister of Billy MacIntyre, Christopher Stapley (Colette) and Earl Stapley. Dear sister in law of Robert Poirier (friend Danielle Robitaille), Mike Poirier(Cathy), Rheal Poirier, Fern Poirier (Lynn), Janet Lapine (friend Claude Lalande), Conrad Poirier (friend Sue), Andy Poirier, John Mark Poirier (friend Rita) and Giseline Poirier. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Born in Belleville, Alda moved to Sudbury in 1963. She married Claude in 1970. She enjoyed gardening, music and spending time with family and friends. The light of her life will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Saturday, May 7th, 2011 at 11:30am. Interment in the Civic Cemetery. (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Friday and after 10:30am Saturday.)
