PRÉVOST, Fernand

October 21, 2011 80

PRÉVOST, Fernand - The family announces with sadness the passing of Fern Prévost on Thursday, October 20th, 2011 at the age of 80 years old, who during his long and courageous battle with cancer, showed his physical, emotional and inner strength and has become a hero to us all. Fern was a proud man who deeply loved his daughters: Suzanne St-Pierre (Michel, children: Cynthia, Eric and Steve), Lise Annett (Bob, children: Chantalle, Chad and Darcy), Lynn Prévost (Jacques Aubin, children: Pascal and Isabelle) and Nicole Guay (Gilles Trépanier, children: William and Vincent). Fern also leaves behind two great- grand-children Emily and Michael-Allen. Fern was a loving brother to Liliane Guay (predeceased), Rachelle Dumontelle, Normand Prévost, Maurice Prévost (predeceased) and Marielle Davis. Fern will also be deeply missed by a long time friend Jeannette Viau. Fern retired from Inco at the age of 57. He was happy spending time on his farm in Noëlville and was passionate about hunting, long walks in the bush, making maple syrup, watching hockey, travelling and most especially spending time with his family. He was very proud of his three daughters. Fern continued to speak about hunting until his last days and was such a proud Métis. Fern was a patient and humble man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He had a great sense of humour and always loved to tease others. His positive energy and courageous ability was an inspiration to all. Those who knew him will never forget his smile. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Saturday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held Sunday October 23rd, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel, Sudbury. Burial will be held Monday, October 24th 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Special Thanks to Warm Hearts and the nursing staff at Sudbury Regional Hospital and Maison Vale Hospice. Donations (by cheque only) to Maison Vale Hospice or Northern Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
