The family announces with great sorrow his sudden passing at Health Sciences North in Sudbury on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the age of 71 years. Maurice is predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years Suzanne Prévost (née Larocque) and by his parents René and Maria (née Poirier) Prévost. Loving father of Sylvain (Joel Cooper) of Sudbury, Alain (Renée Dutrisac) of Lively, Martin (Mélanie Paquette) of Halifax, Nova Scotia and Luc (Mary Ellen Wieleba) of Russell, Ontario. Cherished grandfather of Marissa, Samuel, Jérémie, Alexandre, Rachelle, Valérie, Brielle, Èva and Jemma. Dear brother of Émile Prévost (Laurette) of Sudbury, Noëlla Séguin (Julien) of Noëlville, Laurette Trottier (late Rhéal Trottier, late Sévère Chartier) of Timmins, Jean-Paul Prévost (Irène) of Sudbury, Gisèle Cayen (Richard) of Elliot Lake, Yvette Godin (Raymond) of Cartier, Hélène Rainville (Ubald) of Azilda and Marcel Prévost (Monique) of Hanmer. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Armand Prévost (Gertrude of Chelmsford), Albert Prévost (Ernestine of New Brunswick), Jeannine Carrière (René of Sudbury), Colette Prévost, Pauline Ignuta (late Ken Coulis, Danut Ignuta from Kitchener) and Hector Prévost. Dear brother-in-law of Claire Piette (André) of Val Caron, Hélène Mayer (late Gérard) of Gatineau, Qc, Robert Larocque (Teri) of Thunder Bay and predeceased by the late Lorraine Vincent, Claude Larocque, Michel Larocque (Fleurette) of Chelmsford, Denise Guénette (late Aimé) and Jacques Larocque. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Maurice was a very loving and generous man. He enjoyed music, playing drums, sitting by a campfire, dancing in his younger days and going on little trips in his RV. He had a love for cars and spent many hours meticulously detailing them. He enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and spending time with his four sons. The family will not be the same without their grand-papa. In keeping with Maurice’s wishes, there will be no visitation; a Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be celebrated on November 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Église St-Joseph in Chelmsford. Due to the pandemic, masks are mandatory. Those that cannot attend can view the livestream ceremony on Alain Prévost’s Facebook page. As Maurice was a recipient of a donated kidney and having spent many years as a dialysis patient in Sudbury, the family is asking those that can, to donate to the Kidney Foundation at https://kidney.ca or take a moment to register to be an organ donor at beadonor.ca as it can help save lives.
