In loving memory of John Robert Pushman 92 years. Passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, at Health Sciences North.
John joins his beloved wife and best friend of 64 years Barbara Pushman (nee Erickson) predeceased in 2021. Loving and devoted father of Joan Johns, Paul (Faith), Michael (Linda) and predeceased by infant son David. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Emma, David, Maddy, and Logan. He is survived by his youngest brother Glenn and his wife Lucie Sauvageau. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many family and friends.
John worked at Algoma Steel for 29 years retiring in 1991. After retiring he worked as a Treasurer for the Bush Plane Museum and the United Way, and volunteered as a treasurer for Christ Church in Sault Ste. Marie
He was a strong and proud man who always dressed sharp. He enjoyed tending to his rose garden and trees, cheering on the Green Bay Packers with his grandson David, and enjoyed a nip of Scotch or Irish Whisky while sitting around making memories with family and friends. He had a zest for life, and even in his later years, was never too old to learn or try something new. He was lover of music and good food.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the wonderful staff Health Sciences North for their care and compassion, especially to Dr. Main and nurses Julia and Jen who took such good care of him in his final hours.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with burial alongside his wife in the Waters Cemetery.
