RADEY , “Vince“, Vincent Thomas - In Loving Memory of Vince Radey (a.k.a. Grandpa) 81 years Peacefully Wednesday, July 18th, 2012 at Health Sciences North with his loving family at his side. Beloved husband of Fleurette (Benoit) Radey. Loving father of Janet Charette (husband Michel predeceased), John Radey, Joanne Belanger (husband Louis), Bob Radey (wife Denise Chartrand) and Ken Radey (wife Suzanne). Dear father in law to Catherine Dodge. Cherished Grandpa to François (Rianne), Jean-Louis, Renée, Scott (Tasha), Courtney, Danielle (Eric), Marc, Melissa, Kristen (Frank), Nathan, Kevin, Curtis and great-grandchildren Gaven and Arya. Special father and grandpa to Butch and Betty Benoit, Michelle (husband Chris), Steven and William. Dear son of Jack and Mary Ellen Radey predeceased. Dear brother of Tereasa Houle (husband Armand predeceased), Ellen Hamilton (husband Clarence predeceased) and predeceased by Valerie Gaboriaud, Herbert, Bernard and Anna Radey. Dear brother in law of Henry Gaboriaud. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Creighton, Vince grew up in Chelmsford. Born and raised in Creighton, Vince married in Sudbury in 1952 to Fleurette (nee Benoit). He had been a miner at INCO, retiring in 1993 with 42 years service. He spent many happy times at the family camp on Onaping Lake which he built with love as a place where many happy memories were created. In younger years he was an accomplished hockey player and ball player and well-respected coach. He was an avid fisherman, teaching his secrets and techniques to his grandchildren. He was the number one fan at their hockey and ringuette games and a well-loved supporter to all the kids at the arena, often rewarding good play with a toonie. He was a faithful Blue Jays and Montreal Canadiens fan. He will be remembered as a well-loved storyteller who was devoted to his loving family. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury (2-4; 7-9pm Friday only). Parish Prayers 7:30pm Friday. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church 39 Walford Rd., Sudbury Saturday, July 21st, 2012 at 10am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Joseph's Continuing Care Complex would be appreciated.
