RANTA, Andrew “Andy“ - In Loving Memory of Andrew “Andy“ Ranta, 83 years, Monday, January 7th, 2013 at Finlandia Village. Beloved husband of Lila (Manninen) Ranta of Sudbury. Loving father of Markus (Lyndsay) and Les (Cindy). Cherished grandfather of Tyler, Natalie and Jessica. Dear son of Antti and Ellen Ranta both predeceased. Dear brother of Vaila Wilson predeceased, Margaret Holub (Roman predeceased) and Martha Johnson (Bill predeceased). Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Born in Sudbury, Andy married Lila in Toronto in 1957. He worked as a teacher and at INCO and Falconbridge Nickel mines. He was an avid skier, and a Life Member of the Onaping Falls Nordic Ski Club. Andy was a member of the South End Seniors and formerly with the Suomi Lions Club. Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 11:30am. Interment in the Beaver Lake Cemetery. Donations to Toronto Sick Children's Hospital would be appreciated. (Friends may call after 10:30am Thursday).
