In loving memory of Michael “Mukleesh” Glen Recollet 72 years of Wikwemikong who passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at Health Sciences North on Friday, July 21st, 2023.
Loving son of Dominic and Irene Recollet (nee Desmoulin) both predeceased. Dear brother of Marcella Shawana (Clayton predeceased) and Jean Flamand, and brother-in-law Ken Toulouse, and predeceased by his siblings and their spouses Hubert Recollet (Loretta), Stella Corbiere (Clifford), Hilda Pudwill (Dieter), Dorothy Toulouse, Stanley Recollet (Bernadette), Onezime Recollet, and June Recollet all of Wikwemikong. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Michael was a very caring brother, uncle, and friend. He was a very humble and generous man with a good sense of humor and was a good story teller. He was warm hearted and friendly, and would always take the time to chat and get to know people. In his younger years, he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed guiding, fishing, trapping and hunting. Michael’s livelihood was working in forestry, and worked as a seasonal forest firefighter. In his later years he devoted his time to helping his community. He was proud to be fluent in Anishinaabemowin and shared his knowledge by teaching the language and culture. He enjoyed a nice car ride, eating out with family and friends, playing TV Bingo, going to the casino, watching his nieces and nephews play their hockey and baseball games, playing horseshoes, and watching Western movies. Family was most important to Michael and he was happiest during family gatherings.
