Catherine (Cathie) Alice Richardson
1950-2024
It is with great sorrow that the family announces that Catherine (Cathie) Alice Richardson passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024, at Extendicare York in her 74th year.
Predeceased by her parents Edson and Elsie (Sheridan) Richardson, her sister Anne and her brother Jim (Cecile). She is survived by her sister-in-law Cecile Richardson and two nephews Cliff (Katie), Brent (Jenna) and their families. Also survived by her best friend Fran Black whose friendship, love, support and compassion meant a great deal to Cathie.
She was born in Timmins and moved to Sudbury as a young child where she grew up and attended school. Cathie lived in Sault Ste Marie for 30 years before moving back to Sudbury in 2010. Cathie was an avid reader & volunteered at the library in Sault Ste Marie. In her younger days she liked doing crafts such as making stuffed animals for her nephews. She enjoyed socializing with family and friends especially attending family reunions.
Many thanks to the staff on floor 6 at Extendicare York for the care and support given to Cathie these last four years.
