RICHER, John Henry “Hank“ - In loving memory of John Henry “Hank“ Richer, 63 years, who passed away Wednesday, September 9th, 2009 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph Health Centre. Born in Halifax, he came to Toronto in 1972 with the Ontario Housing Corporation, moving to Sudbury in 1977 as the Maintenance Manager for the Greater Sudbury Housing Corp., where he retired in 1999. Hank lived in Garson where he made many wonderful friendships. The family wish to thank the many friends and neighbours who helped Hank through his illness. In healthier days, he enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Portage Lake. Hank had a great love of fishing, dogs, and watching and in earlier days, coaching, hockey. He was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan and always looked forward to his season tickets with the Sudbury Wolves. Hank was proud to be the Kukagami Volunteer Fire Chief and a member of the Falconbridge Curling Club. Beloved husband of Jane (Ivanov) Richer predeceased 2007. Loving father of Aaron (Melissa) of Oshawa and Michelle predeceased 1997. Dear son of Rene and Helene Richer both predeceased. Dear brother of Janet (Eddy Lowe) of Falconbridge. Dear brother in law of Eugene, Alex (Joy), Johnny (Nicole) and Agnes. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. Sunday, September 13th, 2009 at 11 a.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Donations to the Michelle Richer Bursary Fund at Laurentian University would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Saturday or after 10 a.m. Sunday).
