ROBINSON, John (Jack) - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jack at the Sudbury Regional Hospital on May 1, 2011 after a brief illness, in his 78th year. Beloved husband for 54 years of Eira (Elgbacka) of Massey, Ont. Cherished father of Gary (Marie) Robinson of Tsawwassen (Delta) B.C. Dawna (Rob) Brown of Espanola, Ont. Karyn Robinson of North Hollywood, CA. Proud grandfather of Erika and Lisa Robinson, Arielle and Matthew Brown. Survived by his brother Harold (Ursula) Robinson of Massey, Ont. Jack was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. On April 16, 1934 and was a life long resident of Massey. He worked at E.B.Eddy Forest Products as a welder and welding foreman until his retirement. He was a Director on the Massey and Area Medical Foundation for many years as well as a Councillor for the Town of Massey for 20 years. Jack was a member of the Espanola Masonic Lodge, as well as a founding member and past president of the Huron Shrine Club and a member of the Cockburn Island Conservation Club. Jack will be missed and remembered by many family and friends throughout Northern/Southern Ontario and the North Shore. There will be no service or visitation at Jack's request. A celebration of Jack's life and interment will be on his beloved Cockburn Island at a later date. Donations may be made in Jack's memory to Cockburn Island Heritage Fund, Sudbury Regional Hospital Dialysis Unit or the Massey Zion Lutheran Church. Many thanks to Dr. Gill and Nurses on the 4th floor and Drs. Goluch, Nistico and the Nurses on the 9th floor dialysis unit. A special thanks to Candice, Kim, Tammy and Lori for your care and compassion. Never to be forgotten. Happy to meet, Sorry to part, Happy to meet again.
