ROMANUCK, Patricia (Pat) (Castanza) - 85 years, passed away Wednesday, March 27th, 2013 at St. Joseph's Continuing Care, Sudbury. Pat was born in Quebec and came to Sudbury at the age of 5 with her brothers and sisters: Ricco, Dominic, Mary and Rose, and Sudbury quickly became her home. She always proudly called herself a “true Northern Girl“. Pat was well known amongst her friends and family for picking blueberries, and for her delicious blueberry pies and pickled green peppers. After her retirement, Pat was an active and proud volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the CNIB. She was described as feisty, strong willed, tenacious, hardworking, loyal and honest; traits she kept throughout her life. Pat is survived by her loving daughter Gina Roman of Toronto and family members Dominic Castanza, Mario Rovinelli, Mary Wilton (Dave), Robert Roberti (Marguerite), Roxana Roberti, Mary Castanza (Ricco) Cathy Castanza (Steve Rinneard ), Deena Depatie (Marcel) and Donald Castanza. She is predeceased by her father Salvatore (Sam) Castanza and mother Emilia Nicolette, brother Ricco Castanza and her two sisters Mary Rovinelli and Rose Roberti. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury, Saturday, March 30th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels in Pat's memory. (Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday).
