ROPER, Virginia

February 17, 2012 85

ROPER, Virginia Irene - With great sorrow, the family announces the passing of Virginia Irene Roper, aged 85, (former resident of Lively for 57 years). After being stranded for six years at the Alzheimer International Airport, boarding pass in her hand, and in the presence of and with the blessing and love of her daughter Loretta, Virginia boarded her flight and, with grace and dignity, finally soared to freedom and peace in the early morning hours of Monday, February 13, 2012, at home in Russell. Broken-hearted and left behind to mourn an incredible mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law are Virginia's daughters: Loretta Roper of Russell, Heather Roper of Ottawa, and Susan Roper and husband George Valiquette of Lively. The Big “G“ will always remain the beloved grandmother extraordinaire of Brendan and Matthew Roper-Valiquette. Virginia is also survived by her sisters Helen Heasman (North Bay), Mildred Leblanc (Quebec City), and Beverley Ann Mosher (Lunenberg), and brother, Raymond Mosher (Sudbury) as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Leonard (1997), her sister Florence Logan, and her brother, Sea Captain Ronald Mosher. A private family interment of Virginia's ashes will take place in the spring at the Waters Cemetery, Lively.
