In loving memory of Marlene Rouleau (nee Burton) who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 at Health Sciences North at the age of 81. She is the best friend and beloved wife of 62 years to Conrad Rouleau. Loving mother of Dan (Liz) and Steve (Kyla), cherished grandmother of Nathan (Katie), Marissa (Jeremy), Ryan (Jasmine) and Kendra (Brett) and six Great-grandchildren. Cherished by in-laws Ron and Joan Rouleau (both predeceased), Gates (predeceased) and Jean Rouleau, Nicole and Louis Patry, Carole and Steve McMurray and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Parry Sound, she was the only child of Jack and Marguerite Burton (both predeceased). Marlene created precious memories at family gatherings, attending her grandchildren’s many events and sometimes choosing hockey tournaments in Northern Ontario over the sunny beaches of Florida! Marlene and Con loved to travel taking them many places including France, Spain, Turkey, Greece and Italy. They also travelled all across Canada, took several cruises and spent numerous winters in Florida. Marlene always enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her many friends playing cards and visiting the casino.

Marlene graduated from business college and worked at The Sudbury Star until her retirement in 1996.

Marlene’s presence will be deeply missed. Her family would like to thank the outstanding staff at Health Sciences North on the 4th and 7th floors for all their exceptional care and compassion over many months. A special thank you to Sue VanAmburg, Marlene and Con’s niece for her incredible kindness and generosity.

A funeral service will be held in the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Saturday, April 20th, 2024 at 11:30. Friends may gather after 10:30am.
