ROY, Muriel Beryl (Michel) - In Loving Memory of Muriel Beryl (Michel) Roy 98 years Sunday, February 3rd, 2013 at Extendicare York. Beloved wife of Greg Roy predeceased. Loving mother of Robert “Bob“ Roy (Marilyn) of Montreal. Cherished grandmother of Matthew (Caroline) and great grandmother of Emilie. Dear daughter of William and Matilda Michel both predeceased. Dear sister of Velma , Cloyne, Clair and Willard all predeceased. Sadly missed by nieces, nephews, close friends Angie Piccini, Sharon and Paul Murphy and family. Born in Ethel, Ontario, she started her teaching career in Webbwood, Ontario in 1938 and married Greg in Sudbury in 1941. After 4 years in B.C. while Greg served with the Sault Ste Marie and Sudbury regiment, returned to Sudbury and resumed a 25-year teaching career with the Sudbury Board of Education, retiring from Gatchell Public School in 1970. Muriel was a gifted musician who served as the organist of Knox Presbyterian Church for many years. In later life, she lived at and enjoyed the residents and staff of Meadowbrook Retirement Village, and in this past year was given very attentive care at Health Sciences North and Extendicare York. Memorial Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch St., Sudbury Saturday, March 30th, 2013 at 11:30am. (Friends may gather after 11:15am Saturday, March 30th).
