It is with very heavy heart that the family wishes to announce the sudden passing of Ronald Roy at his home on May 25th at the age of 71.
Son of the late Joyce (nee Pigeau) and Gerard Roy both predeceased. Ron was the loving husband of 47 years to his wife Gisele and forever the Hero to his daughters Ginette (Mike) Carroll and Danielle Roy. He was and will forever be idolized by his grand-children, Reagan (Cameron), Gillian, Lauren, Emily, Ryan, Evan, Avery, and his great granddaughter Blakely.
Ron will be greatly missed by his brothers Richard (Helen), both predeceased, Greg (Sharon) and Kevin (Ginette), his mother-in-law Grace (Fern predeceased) and his sisters and brothers in law Diane (Jim) Angove, Suzanne (Roger) Giroux, Ronnie (Brenda) Leblanc as well as his aunts and uncles and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was a 30-year miner with Falconbridge Ltd. and was very passionate about his career. Even many years after retirement, he loved to talk about mining with his son in law Mike who shares his same passion for the job.
Above all else, Ron was a true family man who loved spending time with his family. Whether it be at the camp that he loved, fishing off the dock with Reagan or picking veggies in his garden with the grandchildren, or having the entire family over for his homemade Chinese meals, he was always happiest surrounded by the ones he loved.
