February 14, 2011 76

RYCHLO, Olga Mary (Mereshka) - In loving memory of Olga Mary Rychlo (Mereshka), 76 years, who passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. She was born in Copper Cliff, Ontario then later moved with her parents to Sudbury and remained in Sudbury. She was married on July 19, 1952 to Stanley Peter Rychlo. She had over 58 loving years with her husband Stan. Olga was a loving mother to four lovely children who she was very close to, Sharon Ukrainec (husband Walter) of Sudbury, Jerry Rychlo (wife Anita) of London, Patricia Rychlo of Sudbury and Paul Rychlo (wife Tammy) of Val Caron. Olga was a dear and loving grandmother to her eight grandchildren Melanie & Stephanie Ukrainec of Sudbury, Nick & Danielle Rychlo of London, Kristen & Ashley Ethier of Sudbury and Christopher & Matthew Rychlo of Val Caron. She adored all eight of them. She also spent many hours babysitting them and she called it a labour of love. She also said the grandchildren lit up her life greatly. Olga was predeceased by both parents as well as her only living relative her brother Mike Mereshka who predeceased her September 20, 1995 in Windsor. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Olga loved to sing. She belonged to the St. Mary's Church Choir for 24 years, to the Bel Canto Chorus for two years to the Dnipro Choir at the Ukrainian National Federation for five years, she sang with the Northern Echoes for three years and more recently she was a choir member in the choir of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Olga was a people person and enjoyed being in touch with her many friends. She loved her cottage on the Murdock River where she and her husband Stan spent many summers with their children and families. They all enjoyed going to the cottage very much where they enjoyed fishing, picking strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and Oh Yes Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed taking the grandchildren to the Hungry Bear Restaurant that was a great treat for them. Olga also enjoyed swimming especially with her grandchildren. She enjoyed very much working as a volunteer for the Heart & Stroke Foundation in the office answering their phones in 1990. For the past few years Olga was a member of the Bluebird Club with the Arthritis Society and she also volunteered for them, she was on the phone committee. Olga will be sadly missed by quite a few of her close friends whose lives she touched along the way, especially by those of us closest to her. May she rest in peace.
