SANFTENBERG, Elwood Robert (Woody) - July 17 1941 - August 24, 2010 Woody passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 24, 2010 at the Timmins and District Hospital, at the age of 69. Predeceased by his infant daughter Debbie Sanftenberg and parents Gilbert and Myrtle Sanftenberg. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Rita. Loving father of Ed Belec of Timmins, Shelley Scott (Richard) of London, Ruth Hembruff (Gary) of Chelmsford and Robert Sanftenberg (Tina) of Timmins. Cherished grandfather of Joey Hembruff, Tanya Roy (Eddy), Sarah Sanftenberg, Kelly VanEmbden, Derek Sanftenberg, Vanessa Sanftenberg and Jessica Scott. Great- grandfather of Taylor Hembruff, Hailey Hembruff, Elizabeth Roy and EJ Roy. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Eleanor Vance (late Russell), Earl Sanftenberg (Becky), Dorothy Isola (Tino), Hilda Hansson (Ed), Morris Sanftenberg (Dolores) and Nellie Steinke (Fred). He is also survived by many sister/brother-in-laws and nieces and nephews. He will now rest in peace with his late wife Jean. A Memorial Service to celebrate Woody""s life will be held on Monday, August 30th at 11:00 am at the Walford Community Centre, Walford, Ontario. Remembrance donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
