SAUNDERS, John Richard - In Loving Memory of John Richard Saunders, 78 years, Friday morning, March 23rd, 2012 at his residence in Sudbury. Beloved husband of Vivian (nee Deschamps) Saunders of Sudbury. Predeceased by wife Patricia (nee Gallagher) Saunders. Loving father of Margaret-Ann Cormier (husband Gord) of Sudbury, Robert Saunders (wife Janie) of Brooklyn, Ont., Lynn Gillespie (husband David predeceased) of Sudbury, Marc Saunders (wife Debbie) of Woodstock. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Jessica Fox, Michael Cormier, Melisa Cormier, Patrick Saunders, Emily Gillespie, Megan Saunders, Cora Gillespie and great grandchildren Hunter Saunders, Weston Fox, Brooklyn Saunders, Marcus Fox. Predeceased by his parents Glenn and Margaret (nee Workman) Saunders. Dear brother of Ivan Saunders (wife Arlene) of Bryson, P.Q. and Beverly Grund predeceased. Special uncle to several nieces and nephews. John was born and raised in Sudbury. He worked as a shift boss at Falconbridge smelter for 39 years, retiring in 1987. John always lead a healthy lifestyle involving himself with the YMCA as a fitness instructor and personal trainer in Dartmouth N.S., Ottawa and Sudbury. His favorite pastime was water colour painting. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, his family was his priority and he was proud of them all. John leaves a rich legacy of love and devotion and will be sadly missed. Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St. (at Hazel St.) Sudbury Wednesday, March 28th, 2012 at 11:00 am Interment at the Valley East Cemetery.
