SHEFFIELD, Allan Roy “Mike“ - After a decade long battle with Parkinson Disease, passed away peacefully at Alexander Place, Waterdown, on Sunday, January 22, 2012 in his 81st year. Beloved Husband of Mary Frances “Fran“ (Johnston) for 59 years. Loving father of Greg (Corrinne) Sheffield, Sudbury, ON, Lynn Harder (Charles), Asquith, Sask., Laurie Quinn (Tim), New Delhi, India, Sandra Young (Lance), Waterdown, ON. Dearly loved Grandfather of Sarah Plante (Jay), Mallory Sheffield, Chelsea McGee (Marc), Russel Harder, Andrea Caswell (Robert), Christopher Quinn (Lindsay), Owen, Evin, Tayler and Ian Young. Great-grandfather of Quinn Caswell and Isaac McGee. Brother of Douglas (Burleigh), Edward (Karen), Norman, (Helen), Alice Hewitt (Gordon), Irene Murphy (Vincent), Ronald, Barbara Lennox (Bruce), Larry “Joe“ (Mary Joy), Gloria Wallace (Larry), predeceased by his brother Stanley. Brother-in-law of Alice (predeceased) (William) Jones, Don (Carole) Johnston, Robert (predeceased) (Helen Bailey). Sadly missed also by many nieces and nephews, his Uncle Ralph (Margrit) Rausch and Aunt Mabel (John) Wright. Predeceased by his parents Edna (Rausch) and Ernest Sheffield. A special thank-you to the caring staff at Alexander Place and our wonderful Dr. James Faught and his staff. Mike retired in 1989 as a locomotive engineer with CN after 38 years. He enjoyed life with his family, his CN Railway family and the Trinity United Church family in Capreol, Ontario. He was a member of the Capreol Senior's Curling Club and Chelmsford Golf Club. He was blessed to have good friends throughout his life. He loved living in Capreol which allowed for his outdoor lifestyle of fishing, snowmobiling, golfing, camping and trips to Thor Lake camp. If desired, memorial contributions made to Trinity United Church, Capreol or to the Northern Ontario Parkinson Society of Canada would be appreciated by his family.
