SKELLY, Alexander “Alex“ - In Loving Memory of Alexander “Alex” Skelly, 84 years, Wednesday afternoon, June 15th, 2011 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. Beloved husband of Claire (nee Cayen) Skelly predeceased 1994. Loving father of Charlie (wife Kathy), Rob (wife Christine) and Jeanne all of Sudbury. Dear grandfather of Alison, Gregory (wife Charlene), Amanda, Jennifer and great grandsons Gavin and Kristian. Special friend of Folly Markle of Sudbury. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Jean (nee Berry) Skelly. Dear brother of Charles (wife Sadie) of Scotland and predeceased by brothers Peter and Edward and sisters Marie and Margaret. Will be sadly missed by family friends Melanie Perreault and Melody Portugie. Alex came to Canada from his native Scotland in 1949 to work at Inco as an electrician and later as apprentice training co-ordinator, retiring in 1984 after 35 years of service. He enjoyed many family vacations, and in later years, travelled to Scotland, Spain, Portugal, Texas and Hawaii. He was knowledgeable, and kept up to date on current events. He enjoyed regular family gatherings and social occasions, and became a pretty good dancer. A special thanks to Nurse Lorrie and all the 4th floor north staff at Sudbury Regional Hospital. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. Sudbury. Funeral Mass at St Andrew the Apostle Church, 1250 Barrydowne Rd., Sudbury Saturday, June 18th, 2011 at 10:00 am Interment at Civic Memorial Cemetery Evening Prayers will be held at 7:30 pm Friday. Donations in memory of Alex to the Kidney Foundation, the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation or the CNIB would be appreciated..
