SMITH, Jean Helen (nee Vincent) - Born December 6, 1935, daughter of Helen (Lemieux) and Fabien Vincent (both predeceased), died on November 5, 2012 in Sudbury. Beloved wife for 55 years of John Smith. Loving mother to Valerie (Rob Vincent) of Oakville, Brian (Mary), Vicki Jacobs (Chuck) and Lee (Jay Barbeau), all of Sudbury. Beloved grandmother of Emma and Rachel Vincent of Oakville, Allison, Harry, Sidney and Hannah Smith, Jonathan and Erin Danyliw, and Jessica Whittaker, all of Sudbury. Survived by her dear sister Marney Vimini (Ovidio) of Espanola. Predeceased by her brothers Edgar, Lowell (Bev surviving, Dot predeceased), Febbie (Shirley predeceased), Cyril and Rheal (Roberta predeceased). Jean was born and grew up in Espanola. In her varied high school career she attended Espanola High School, St. Joseph's College in North Bay and was a graduate of the grade 13 class of 1954 of St. Joseph's College School on Wellesley Street, Toronto in its 100th convocation. She went on to North Bay Teachers' College, graduating in 1955, and taught elementary school in Sault Ste. Marie, Espanola and Chassell, Michigan. After raising her children, she returned to work first at Co-operators Insurance, and then as a real estate agent, retiring in 1992. Until her illness she and John split their time between Northern Ontario and Florida. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, friends and former co-workers. Thanks to Doctor Ray Sawkiw for the many years of wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated. Memorial Service in the R. J.
