SMRKE, Victor Robert - In loving memory of Victor Robert Smrke 83 years Friday, October 26th, 2012 at Health Sciences North. Beloved son of Ann and Anton Smrke (both predeceased) and brother of Minnie, Michael and Tony all predeceased. Loving husband of Pearl (Morrison) Smrke. Loving father of Cathy-Ann (husband Bruno Rupoli) and Gregory Robert Smrke. Cherished grandfather of Michael, Matthew, Megan and Jamie, Ryan and Chris. Sadly missed by his “nephews“ and niece. Victor will always be remembered for his strong devotion to his family. Pearl will always be the absolute love of his life. Vic's passion was hockey. In his younger years he played for the Copper Cliff Redmen and enjoyed years later playing with the Sudbury Old Timers, then coaching for many years later. The accordion, too, was a big part of his life. Pearl and Vic enjoyed their vacations to the sunny south, Mexico being a favourite destination. Victor will always be remembered for his cars - they were always his pride and passion. As a devout Roman Catholic, he was an altar boy in his younger years and later a dedicated usher at Holy Trinity Church and then St. Patrick's Church. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff at Health Sciences North. Resting at the JACKSON and BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church 39 Walford Road, Sudbury Monday, October 29th, 2012 at 1pm. Cremation with entombment in the Lasalle Cemetery. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2-5pm Sunday).
