SORRENTI, James Rhys “Jim“ - Passed away at Britt, Ontario, on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in his 71st year. He was the son of the late Louis and Catherine Sorrenti and grandson of the late George and Agnes Smith of Port Stanley. He was predeceased by his wife, the late Victoria Swain and his younger brother Vincent. He is survived by his brother Hal, of Honduras, step children and grandchildren Niki, Kyle, Kayli, Mark, Tayla, Thijs, Becky, Blake, Chance and a cast of friends numbering in the thousands. Jim showed his early business initiative by founding Rentabug, with brother Hal. He later became the driving force and marketing genius behind the success of Kettle Creek Canvas Company in the 1980s and worked with his brother, Hal, on real estate developments in Port Stanley, Jim was an entrepreneur with the creative instincts of an artist. Jim became a well known innkeeper at the Westover Inn in St. Mary's before establishing the popular Little Britt Inn on Georgian Bay. Jim Sorrenti was a friend of youth and the underprivileged, a master of the game of Scrabble, a man of exceptional humour and humility, with an endless stream of creative ideas. He will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched. At the request of the deceased, there will be no funeral. A party will be held at a later date at Britt. Cremation has taken place.
