ST-AMOUR, Benoit - Passed away peacefully at his residence, with his family by his side, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the age of 63 years. Son of the late William and the late Laurette (née Plante) St-Amour. Beloved husband of Pierrette St-Amour (née Brisson) of Val Therese. Loving father of Denise St-Amour (Scott Bruce), Michel St-Amour and Natalie St-Amour-Aiken (Robert). Dear brother of Rita Gauthier (Blaine), Léo St-Amour and Nicole Dimmel (Dan). Predeceased by his sister Jacqueline. Cherished grandfather of Meaghan (Shawn Stamplecoski), Steven (Kirsten Lepage), Destiny and great- grandfather of Gabriel, Grace and Marshal Lee. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The focus of Benoit's life was his family of whom he was very proud and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. He will be remembered for his 33 years of service as a miner with Inco. He was very involved in the community and loved sports, especially being a referee for hockey games. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Hanmer, 4570 St-Joseph Street, Hanmer, Friday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held, Saturday March 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
