It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Fredrick Taylor on August 3rd, 2022, just sixteen days shy of his 83rd birthday, at Maison McCulloch Hospice. Deeply devoted husband and best friend of Roberta (Fynn) Taylor (predeceased August, 2021) for 61 years. Loving father to Lori and her husband Kevin Gregorchuk, and Shelley and her husband Tim Baggio. Cherished grandfather to Kelsey Sutcliffe (Curtis), Jodi Gregorchuk (Conrad Portelance), Jesse Baggio and Charlotte Baggio, and great grandfather to Alyssa and Avery. Wayne is also survived by his sister Wilda Campbell (Wallace predeceased), sister-in-law Nonie Taylor, sister-in-law Gloria Taylor and sister-in-law Eleanor Favot (Peter). Predeceased by his parents William and Mary Taylor, and his brothers John (Lois, also predeceased), Douglas, Bill, Frank (Marylin, also predeceased) and Wallace. Wayne also had a special bond with his many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all of them.

Wayne was born on Manitoulin Island, moving to Copper Cliff at the age of ten. The “Island” maintained a very special place in Wayne’s heart and it was the place where he was the happiest. He truly enjoyed every moment that he spent at his camp on Lake Mindemoya. Ever the gentleman, Wayne always had time to help family and friends with a project and his greetings always included a warm smile and a firm handshake, or a big hug. A devoted family man, Wayne was very proud of his family and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his greatest joy.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff at the North East Cancer Centre, Home and Community Care Support Services North East, Bayshore Home Health, Universal Home Care, and the Maison McCulloch Hospice for all of their kindness, care and support. We are truly grateful for the compassion and wonderful care Wayne received during his final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honour Wayne at Bryston’s-On-the-Park (The Bryston Room), 5 Creighton Rd., Copper Cliff, from 4 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, August 18th, 2022. For those who wish, donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice in memory of Wayne would be greatly appreciated.
