THOMPSON, Daniel Arthur - In loving memory of Daniel Arthur Peter Thompson 1949-2013. The family announces with sorrow his passing Saturday, January 5th, 2013. Beloved husband of Wendy (nee Gilchrist) and loving father of Daniel Grant predeceased (Sarah Watter), Dennis (Stephanie Marsh) and Amanda both of Lively. Beloved “PAPA T“ of Brandon, Lara, Danica, Keegan and Georgia. Beloved son of Patrick and Julia (nee Giroux) both predeceased. Dear brother of Patrick (Colette) and Mary Scanlan (John predeceased) of Sudbury, Margaret Wilson (Don predeceased) of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Tom (Anne) of Minden, Catherine Spencer (Gaston Grondin) of Sudbury, Frank (Linda) of Sudbury, Ellen Van Drunen (Andy) of Hanmer and Brian of Sudbury. Predeceased by his siblings Joe, Theresa Meandro (Gene) of Mississauga, John (Millie) of Sudbury, Ann (Jim Severin) of Lively and Jean. He will be sadly missed by many nephews, nieces, aunts, cousins and many friends from work, billiards, hunting and fishing. Dan loved motorcycling, fishing and hunting at his camp on Murray Lake and loved to play billiards. He worked for 30 years at INCO the last 10 years of which as Worker Rep. for United Steel Workers local 6500. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Friday from 6 to 9 PM and after 10:30 AM Saturday. Funeral Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Saturday, January 12th, 2013 at 11:30 AM Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium. Memorial donations to the Trust for Daniel's Grandchildren would be appreciated by the family.
