TOPP, Robert C. - (1945-2012) - It is with profound sorrow that our family records the peaceful passing of our father Robert “Bob“ Topp. Robert passed away as the sun rose on Sunday, July 15, 2012 and is now reunited with his wife of 35 years, Helene Topp (nee Pilon). Robert was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on July 13, 1945. He served as an O.P.P. officer in Dowling, Ontario before earning a Bachelor's Degree from Laurentian University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto. Robert also served as a Bencher of the Law Society of Upper Canada and received Life Bencher status before retirement. Robert is survived by his children, Daniel (Tracy), Ann Elizabeth and Sarah (Christopher) and his grandchildren William, Charlotte and Thomas who were his greatest joy in the final years of his life. Dad will always be remembered as a true gentleman in every sense of the word. His passion for the legal profession and belief that everyone had the right to a fair defense defined him. He cherished the long-standing relationships that were created through his interactions with his colleagues, clients, law enforcement and the Greater Sudbury community. Arrangements entrusted to JACKSON and BARNARD FUNERAL HOME. The funeral service will be held at St. Jean de Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 26 Kathleen Street, Sudbury, on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 10:00 am. Burial of both our parents, Robert and Helene, to immediately follow at Chelmsford Roman Catholic Cemetery. A celebration of Dad's life will take place at the Ambassador Hotel, 255 Falconbridge Road, Sudbury, beginning at 3:00 pm. Friday. Donations to the Blue Door Cafe would be greatly appreciated.  “Sleep our love and peace attend thee“.
