TURNER, Leonard (Len) - W.W.ll R.C.A.F Veteran - Passed away at Parkview Home in Stouffville, Ontario in his 92nd year on December 26th, 2012 after long illnesses. Survived by his beloved wife of almost 70 years Alice (nee Swinn), and his loving daughter Judith (Judy McDowell) and the late Ron McDowell of Stouffville. Proud grandfather of Greg (Sari) of Waterloo and Jamie (Jeannette) of Stouffville. Special “G.G“ to Dylan, Allie and Shelby. Also survived by his sister Margaret Gardner in Chatham and a nephew in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Len was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Retired from Inco (Vale) in Cooper Cliff and Toronto. Len was the former mayor of Lively, Ontario from 1956 to 1972. A life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 546 in Lively. Family will receive friends at the O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME 6324 Main Street, Stouffville 905- 642-2855 on Wednesday January 2, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Private family service will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Stoufville United Church, Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
