1956-2023

It is with profound sadness we share the peaceful passing of William (Bill) Ushtchenko on December 26, 2023. Bill was surrounded by his loving family who stayed by his side at Health Sciences North in Sudbury during his final hours.

Bill was one of four children to parents William and Dorothy. He grew up in what is now Durham Region with sisters Vanessa, Diane and Brenda. Bill was a man of many talents, including taking on a career in welding, following in his father's footsteps. Welding was a trade he was truly skilled in and which brought him to job sites around the province and internationally throughout his career.

Bill was also an incredibly talented musician. His passion for music is what many knew him for and could often be found with a guitar in hand, on the drums and even on the mic, jamming with numerous bands and groups of friends over the years.

Bill was a loving and sensitive man, with a big sense of humour. Outside of music and motorcycles, his two daughters, Lindsey and Melissa, brought him tremendous pride and joy.

Although Billy, as his 'ma' lovingly referred to him, was unable to be with his mother upon her passing just a few weeks earlier, his family takes comfort in knowing they have been reunited.

Bill was also predeceased by his father and leaves behind his sisters, his daughters Lindsey (Steve) and Melissa, their mother Marg, grandchildren James and Claire, along with nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill will also be dearly missed by his step-daughter Lesley and her daughter Charlie, numerous lifelong friends and many others who have been a part of his life over the years.

Together, his family and friends wish Bill an eternity of peace. May you ride into the sunset on your Harley with the music cranked, the wind in your hair and not a worry in sight.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends with details to follow.
